Sant’Ambrogio represents the industrial soul of the Valpolicella, thanks to its flourishing marble industry. In the center of town stands the parish church, while on the hill overlooking the town there is the small church of San Zeno (XIII century), built in pink limestone. In the hamlet of Gargagnago, stands Villa Serego-Alighieri. From the hamlet of Gargagnago one can get to one of the most beautiful panoramic places of the entire valley, the small town of San Giorgio. Its small square is dominated by the presence of the Romanesque parish, one of the most ancient of the Veronese territory. |
Nella frazione di Domegliara da visitare villa Nichesola. Vicino alla chiesa parrocchiale, particolare la stele raffigurante "la Pietà", scolpita nel 1600 da uno scalpellino locale. Sempre a Domegliara troviamo villa Roveredi Zurla, in completo stato d'abbandono, tra le piante di quello che doveva essere un grande parco s'intravedono un corpo centrale in stile barocco, con statue, mascheroni e la chiesetta di San Leonardo. All'inizio del XIX secolo venne qui scoperta una sorgente d'acqua termale, con una temperatura di 36 gradi, fenomeno attribuito ad origine vulcanica.
